Because the continuing terribly hot, dry weather has taken such a toll on our fruit trees, we have had to choose between saving our trees and saving the fruit on them.  The trees won and we are stripping the trees of fruit in order to protect them from further damage.  The orchard will be closed for the rest of the year and we are looking forward to a kinder and gentler year next year.
